Our servers are physically located within the United States and, in certain specific cases, within locations in Europe, depending on the needs of the client. Therefore, the available connection is always from an ISP physically within the United States or Europe, and all bandwidth will originate from these locations.
Just as users can perform connection tests from their own devices, they can do the same from the Virtual Workspaces. This means that users can access any Internet Speed Test website to check the result or perform a test from the command line. To measure the ping from the command line in Windows, users can follow these steps:
- Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type cmd into the dialog box and press Enter. This will bring up the Command Prompt.
- Once the Command Prompt is open, type ping, followed by a space.
- After the space, type the IP address that you would like to ping.
- Press Enter to execute the command.
- The Command Prompt will then display the results of the ping test. These results include the time it takes for the packets to be sent from your computer, to the server, and back.
Here’s how it looks in the command line:
C:\Users\YourUsername>ping 192.192.192
This command will send a series of test packets to the specified address. The response time will be displayed in milliseconds, which represents the latency or “ping” between your machine and the address you’re pinging.
When interpreting the results of your ping test, it’s important to understand what constitutes a good result. The time it takes for a packet to travel from your computer to the server and back is measured in milliseconds (ms), and lower numbers indicate a faster connection.
- Below 80ms: Any result below 80ms is generally considered good. This means that the connection is stable and you should be able to use most online services without any noticeable lag or delay.
- Below 50ms: If you’re into gaming, you’ll want your ping to be even lower. A result below 50ms is considered good for gaming. At this speed, you should be able to play most online games without experiencing any significant lag.
- Below 30ms: A ping below 30ms is excellent and is ideal for any use. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or using other demanding online services, a ping below 30ms will ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
The results of the Internet Speed Test should always align with the bandwidth promised according to the plan or hardware level requested by the user. If this is not the case, the user can request support from our assistance team by writing to support@nubespecs.com or leaving a message on our WhatsApp contact at +1(507)6085490. Our team will provide timely assistance so that the user can make maximum use of the available bandwidth capacity.
It’s important to note that the most common issues users experience during their sessions are having active downloads while performing the Internet Speed Test. Another common issue is that the user has an active VPN on the Virtual Workspace at the time of performing the Internet Speed Test. We never recommend this because our servers should not connect to VPN services.
